From Fragmented Systems to Focused Growth:  How Street Side Medics is Scaling with Smarter Martech

The Challenge

With ambitious 3-year growth goals, Street Side Medics needed to tackle:

  • Disconnected platforms across volunteer management, donor engagement, and marketing

  • Inconsistent collaboration practices across teams

  • Manual processes for grant tracking and donor lifecycle management

  • Limited visibility of audience segments and engagement data

In other words, the organisation had heart and momentum, but lacked the connected systems to keep pace with their mission.

The DBZ Approach

We took a holistic view across people, processes, and platforms. Our work included:

  • A Martech Discovery Assessment across CRM, marketing automation, collaboration, and volunteer systems

  • Mapping high-priority user stories for donors, volunteers, marketers, and administrators

  • Designing a future-state Martech architecture aligned with growth goals

  • Providing platform recommendations that balanced fit, scalability, and team capability

Tech Recommendations

  • Google Workspace for collaboration and document governance

  • Salesforce CRM for donor and grant management at scale

  • Mailchimp or Pardot for marketing automation, depending on journey complexity

  • Rosterfy or Better Impact for volunteer management and integration needs

 Outcomes

  • A clear, prioritised roadmap to modernise systems and operations

  • Shortlists and demo plans to accelerate implementation decisions

  • A stronger data strategy to support segmentation, compliance, and smarter engagement

  • Greater alignment across fundraising, marketing, and volunteer operations to create efficiencies

 Why It Matters

For Street Side Medics, the impact is tangible: less time wrestling spreadsheets and systems, more time supporting vulnerable Australians.

For us at DBZ, it’s a reminder that whether it’s a global enterprise or a grassroots not-for-profit, the challenges of scaling, streamlining, and connecting technology are often the same. The difference is in the why. Helping an organisation like Street Side Medics future-proof their operations means the ripple effects go well beyond efficiency - they reach directly into the community.

And that’s the kind of work that reminds us why we love what we do.
